This all-levels series is for beginner and advanced yogis who want to reinforce strong foundations for practicing at the studio or home. Each session unlocks mechanics mysteries of elusive poses and sequences - finely tuning for increased mobility, health and confidence. Teachers will guide a Vinyasa warm-up that directly connects to the family of poses to be explored. Students will leave with a toolbox of technique, alignment, transitions and modifications that will enhance self-awareness and confidence in their personal practices. Register Online!

Saturday, January 28th, 1-3pm ~ Hips & Hamstrings with Holly Meyers

~ Emphasis: Understanding the ball-socket hip joints. Exploring how abdominal twists enhance internal and external hip rotation in standing poses such as warrior and triangle. ~ ~ ~ Discovering sacral release, pelvic awareness and deep breathing for freedom in forward folds. Relying on body mechanics (not props) for awareness and intensification. Injury prevention and modifications.
~ Poses May Include: warrior series; half moon; pyramid; triangle; tree, eagle and pigeon pose; yogi squat and related arm balances; lunges and lizard; seated and standing forward folds (i.e. head-to-knee and hand-to-big-toe pose); conditioning and preparation for Hanumanasana (splits).
~ Sequences May Include: Hatha-inspired sun salutation elements (i.e. forward folds; knees-chest-chin; stepping back and forward between lunges and downward facing dog); hip mechanics between crescent lunge, warrior 1/2/3 and triangle; flowing between tree and eagle poses. 

Sunday, January 29th, 1-3pm ~ Free Spirited Postures & Transitions with Jessica Mahler

~ Emphasis: Finding the creativity in enhanced and advanced sun salutations. Mindful approaches to deepening and revolving basic poses. Learning variations and modifications that yield equal benefits. Using props for support and intensification.
~ Poses May Include: revolved half moon, triangle and hand-to-big-toe; high lunge and chair twist; side angle and other binds; conditioning and preparation for bird of paradise; back bends such as camel, bridge, wheel, "flip-dog" and "wild thing."
~ Sequences May Include: Ashtanga-inspired sun salutations (i.e. jumping back and forward; chaturanga to upward facing dog); flowing between balancing poses; transitioning from foundational poses to twists and revolved variations.

Saturday, February 4th, 1-3pm ~ Shoulder & Arms with Stuart Bishop

~ Emphasis: Understanding the ball-socket shoulder joints. Improving strength and stability through static poses, dynamic movement, and transitions. Review of jumping back and forward in sun salutations. Preparing for inversions. Relying on body mechanics (no props) for awareness and intensification. Injury prevention and modifications.
~ Poses May Include: plank, side plank, incline plane; knees-chest-chin, half-chaturanga and full chaturanga (including jump-back review); forward folds with hands clasped, humble warrior' reverse prayer and review of arm binds; conditioning and preparation for crow; bridge, shoulder stand and plough.
~ Transitions May Include: classic Vinyasa sequences (i.e. knees-chest-chin, half-chaturanga and full chaturanga to cobra or upward facing dog); flowing between lunges and humble warrior, or, reverse prayer and forward folds.

Sunday, February 5th, 1-3pm ~ Inversions with Lindsay Tauscher

~ Emphasis: Exploring the conditioning poses for, alternate poses to and health benefits of inversions. Discovering the wisdom of the subtle body and tuning into energetic sensations through mindful breathing. Learning variations and modifications that yield equal benefits. Using props for support and intensification.
~ Poses May Include: downward facing dog, three-legged dog, dolphin, forearm plank and puppy dog; forearm stand, handstand, headstand and shoulderstand.
Complementary Poses and Transitions May Include: shoulderstand, to plow, to fish; headstand to child's pose; inversions to legs-up-the-wall.
~ Alternate Poses: bridge (for shoulderstand); wall handstand; forearm headstand; standing forward folds.
