Shakti Inspired Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training is offering a special weekend format for those who would like to learn more about teaching prenatal students and/or have an interest in becoming RPYT. Focused on inspiring feminine energy, this advanced training honors what is best for the individual with no judgement - both in yoga practice and in their own birth decisions. This training will prepare you to teach to all different levels and all three trimesters in the same class. Trainees will have an understanding of what changes happen during pregnancy in each trimester and how to apply this to the yoga practice. Included will be asana modifications for pregnancy and review of the contraindications and benefits. There will also be information on appropriate pranayama techniques, meditations and visualizations, as well as restorative poses for pregnancy. We will also discuss what to focus on for postnatal yoga students as well building confidence to help you lead prenatal and postnatal classes and also to give variations in your all levels classes. Areas of study include: • Benefits of prenatal Yoga • Variations/contraindications in asana • Common symptoms and associated therapeutic benefits of yoga • Anatomy and physiology of pregnancy • Terminology, complications, and risk factors of pregnancy • Information on birthing options • What to expect and childbirth education (maternal and fetal development, labor and delivery, and the postpartum period) • Appropriate pranayama/meditations and relaxation techniques for pregnancy • Restorative Yoga Postures • Kegels/core work during pregnancy • The business of prenatal yoga • Post natal information.
