Meditation Myth Busters with Holly Meyers

Do you associate meditation with bearded gurus on mountain tops? Can't imagine sitting still or emptying your mind of thoughts? Don't have time to meditate? This workshop is for you! Using a variety of 1- to 15-minute mini-meditations from diverse traditions, the session helps cultivate a personal practice that fits your needs. You don't have to sit still, clear your thoughts or devote hours in order to reap the benefits of meditation: reduced stress, improved focus and peace of mind. This workshop also includes breathing exercises to enhance concentration, light yoga movement to awaken the body (no experience necessary), and a guided deep relaxation to integrate the day's practice. Yoga mats, cushions and handouts provided. Holly started meditating by accident in 1990, and has shared her Myth Busters with at-risk youth, incarcerated women and simply stressed-out folks since 2008. She teaches weekly yoga and meditation classes at Embrace.
