Module 5: Bhakti Path: Chanting and Devotion
Instructors: Hari-kirtana das and Christy Freer
Bhakti Yoga, the path of grace, is an ancient practice that expands your mind, elevates your consciousness, opens your heart, and awakens your spirit. In this weekend intensive, you’ll learn what makes Bhakti Yoga both different from and complimentary to other forms of yoga and discover what makes Bhakti Yoga such an exceptionally powerful path to self-realization. Our sessions will include an introduction to the fundamental concepts and principles of Bhakti Yoga, the five essential elements of Bhakti Yoga as a home practice, mantra meditation as both a solitary and as a group practice, and eight instructions on how to move into progressively deeper feelings of devotion. There will also be lots of ecstatic chanting with Hari and special guest teacher Christy Freer.
This weekend immersion will be of particular interest to yoga teachers who want to intensify their experience of yoga by integrating Bhakti into their personal practice and want to learn how to infuse their classes and workshops with Bhakti through chanting, storytelling, music, and asana sequence design.
